ghostLIGHT is an innovative, large-scale,three-hour performance/spectacle created site-specifically by the award-winning Chicago physical theater company Plasticene for the length of State Street during Looptopia 2008: Chicago’s White Night.
The “ghostlight” is a long-standing theatrical tradition where a single light is left on at all times in a theater – to keep the magic alive even when no one is there.
Plasticene will transform the tree planters that line historic State Street into a nine-block promenade of 16 small raised stages where performers create magical unfolding visual/musical performances for passing audiences. |
